Competition Terms and Conditions

Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.

Entry is open to all Australian and New Zealand permanent residents. Employees and their immediate families of Europcar and printers, suppliers, providers and agencies

associated with this promotion are ineligible.

The promotion commences on Thursday 1st May 2008 at 00:01 (AEST) and concludes on Monday 30th June 2008 at 23:59 (AEST). (“Promotion Period”)

Customers who rent any vehicle from a Europcar branch in Australia or New Zealand during the Promotion Period, will receive a lucky door card that will be located inside

the vehicle they have hired. Each lucky door card will reveal a guaranteed prize available for redemption either online at www.europcar.com.au or at the customer's local Europcar branch

(refer to condition 9 below).

99,894 lucky door cards will be printed.

99,894 lucky door prizes will be available. Lucky door prizes are:

  • 52,320 x $5 off next vehicle Europcar rental

  • 20,000 x $10 off next vehicle rental

  • 5,000 x $25 off next vehicle rental

  • 20,000 x Free Up Grade off next vehicle rental, valued at maximum $25

  • 10 x $50 off next vehicle rental

  • 20 x Men's or Women's Elwood t-shirt valued at $50

  • 2,500 x Free Day Rental, valued at maximum $50

  • 10 x Accor $200 Gift Cards

  • 23 x Ocean Scooters valued at $325

  • 10 x Virgin Blue return adult economy airfares for 2 adults within Australia only, each valued at $1,730 each (Prize only available to be won in Australia)

  • 1 x Hisense Home Package valued at $7,094. Package consists of 46” (116cm) 1080P True high definition integrated digital LCD (Model No. HSLC11628HDIP), 2.5H.P. The total maximum prize pool is valued at $1,246,969 (AUD).

Prize Redemption

  • To redeem any of the Europcar ‘Next Vehicle’ or ‘Free Day’ rental instant win prizes, winners are required to quote the promotional prize number, found inside the break open panel, when making their reservation and hand over their winning lucky door card when picking up their next vehicle, at any Europcar branch in Australia or New Zealand. Instant win prizes must be redeemed before Thursday 31st July 2008 and are not transferable for cash.
  • To claim all other prizes, winners are required to go to www.europcar.com.au http://www.europcar.com.au/ before Thursday 31st July 2008 and complete the online redemption form with their own name, address, phone number and the 7 digit unique code located on the bottom of their Lucky Door card. Winners will then be contacted by the Promoter by telephone and in writing within 28 days to organise their prize.

Names of any winners of prizes valued over $100 will be published in the public notices section of The Australian Newspaper on 7th August 2008.

If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to state regulation.

Instant win game materials are void if stolen, forged, mutilated or tampered with in any way. The Promoter, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to verify the validity of the all claims and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, or submits a claim that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.

Programming and other quality control errors will not invalidate an otherwise valid prize claim. Unless otherwise due to fraud or ineligibility under these conditions of entry, all valid prize claims in excess of the advertised prize pool will be honoured.

In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the Prize.

All existing claims for prizes and entitlements to claims will be met notwithstanding the advertised prize pool has been exceeded. Printing errors or other quality control matters outside the control of the individual player shall not be used as the sole basis for refusing to award a prize. The prize must be taken as offered and cannot be varied. Prize values are GST inclusive and are in Australian dollars and are the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier and are correct at time of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value.

The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into. Prize winners are advised that Tax implications may arise from their prize winning and they should seek independent financial advice prior to the acceptance of the prize. All prize claims become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information to enable you to redeem your prize but no further use of this information will be made.

The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

As per the provisions of the New Zealand Privacy Act, any personal details of New Zealand entrants will be stored at the office of the Promoter. A request to access, update and correct any information should be directed to that office.

If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and, subject to any written directions given by the various Lottery Departments, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.

In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it's determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State Regulation.
