But maybe it’s time to experience some Australian city life? 190km from Ballina is the Queensland city of Brisbane, the third largest in Australia. A great way to see the sights is to take a boat trip along the Brisbane River - the CityCats and City Ferries offer hop-on, hop-off trips seven days a week, stopping off at many of the major attractions. Head to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to get up close with native animals including kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, dingoes, and snakes. Take home a souvenir snap of you cuddling a koala or even holding a baby crocodile!
