Traveling on toll roads has never been easier with Linkt. Whether you're traveling for leisure or business, you can use any toll roads Australia-wide; in your rental vehicle. Simply rent, drive and you're covered. It's that easy!

 

How it works

 

1.

Travel on any toll road in Australia in your Europcar rental vehicle.

2.

Linkt will charge the cost of the toll trips you make to your Europcar Account, plus a service fee for each Calendar day that you use a toll road of $3.30 (including GST).

3.

If you travelled on a toll road You will receive an email or SMS from Linkt confirming that you have travelled on a toll road and explaining how you can access your trip information online.  In some cases this may take up to 14 days after you have travelled on a toll road.

4.

Once you return the vehicle to us, Europcar will notify Linkt you are no longer using the Europcar vehicle and your account is not valid for any future trips past that date.

5.

Log into your account using the details Linkt sent you to track your trips, access your payment details and download your statements. Please note, your username is your account number. Your Rental agreement number is available on your Europcar Rental agreement document. Follow the reset my password prompts if you haven’t logged in before or have forgotten your password.

6.

The description you'll see on your bank statements will be a charge from Linkt. Trips will usually be processed within 3 to 14 days of travel. 4 months after the last transaction Linkt  will close the account

 

If you haven't received an email or SMS from Linkt, or cannot access the information, please have your rental agreement number ready and Linkt will be able to assist you on 13 33 31.

 

Using your existing Linkt account

You’ll automatically be set up with a Linkt Rental Account to cover your toll road travel, as part of your rental agreement with Europcar.

However, if you’d prefer to use your existing Linkt Tag account, make sure you bring and install your tag in the vehicle before you travel. In this case your existing Linkt Tag account will cover the toll charges and your Linkt Rental Account will not be used. You will not be charged twice for toll road travel in your rental vehicle. Just remember to remove your tag from the vehicle when you return it back to the Europcar branch to avoid toll road charges that aren’t yours.

Why do I need a Linkt Rental Account?

Some roads in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland are toll roads and you need to pay if you choose to use them. To pay for tolls, you need an account or pass to avoid receiving a toll notice or invoice with additional fees. We’ve set up arrangements with your rental agency, to make these payments a lot simpler. If your rental agreement mentions the Linkt Rental Account, you’re covered for toll road travel in your rental vehicle automatically–a Linkt Rental Account has been set-up for you. A Linkt Rental Account is different to a standard Linkt Account. A Linkt Rental Account is specifically set up to cover toll road travel in your rental vehicle. This account will automatically close once your rental agreement ends and all of your trips have been processed.

Do I need to do anything?

No, you don’t need to do anything. If you travel on a toll road in your rental vehicle, Linkt will use the details you provided to Europcar, when signing your rental agreement, to set up the Linkt Rental Account for you. It’s as simple as that.

How do I pay?

Linkt will charge the credit or debit card you used to book your rental vehicle, so you can travel with confidence and know that you’re covered. You can change your payment details by contacting Europcar or log in to the Linkt website at linkt.com.au/myrental

How much will I be charged?

The costs of the tolls will be deducted from your credit or debit card, in addition to a $3.30 service fee. This service fee is charged once per calendar day that you use toll road travel.

How can I see my trips or download a statement?

After your first toll road trip, Linkt will send you an email or SMS with your Linkt Rental Account details, including a username so you can log in to the Linkt website. You’ll be able to view your toll road trips and payment details. You’ll also be able to download copies of your travel history and statements.

What do I do when I return my rental vehicle?

You don’t need to do anything. Linkt will only charge you for tolls and service fees if we identify any trips made during the time you rented the vehicle. You might have already returned your vehicle by the time we charge your card. This is because it can take Linkt a couple of days to process the trips, depending on when and where you’ve travelled.

What if my employer directly pays for rental vehicles?

There’s nothing you need to do. Your company will manage payments directly with Linkt for any travel you make on toll roads.

How does the Linkt Rental Account relate to my personal Linkt account?

This account covers toll road trips taken in rental vehicles only. The Linkt Rental Account is created in addition to any personal Linkt account or pass you may already have.

Can you use your existing Linkt account?

You’ll automatically be set up with a Linkt Rental Account to cover your toll road travel, as part of your rental agreement with Europcar.
