Non-European drivers need a valid driver's license from their home country or state and must be over 21 to rent a car.
There are no tolls for private cars on German roads.
Like in all the European countries, you drive on the right side in Germany and overtake to the left of the other vehicle in free-flowing traffic (overtaking on the right is only permissible in stationary traffic).
Parking is prohibited within five meters of crosswalks and intersections, 10 meters before traffic lights and within 15 meters of a public transport stop.
The maximum speed limit for private cars and other vehicles on autobahns and four-lane roads is 130 km/h. The speed limit is 100 km/h on other roads.
