Spend the days beach hopping along the calm sheltered waters of Meelup Beach, Bunker Bay and Eagle Bay. Your rental car makes it easy to hop between beaches and towns while carrying beach gear, snorkels and picnic supplies. Indulge in premium food and drinks at one of the many wineries, breweries and produce stores in the area. Watch the surfers and take a scenic coastal walk in Yallingup.

If you’re visiting between September and December, witness the annual migration of the humpback and southern right whales.

A short drive away, your next stop is the historic Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, providing panoramic views of the coastline. Watch the water where the Indian Ocean and Southern Ocean meet and if you’re visiting between June and September, keep an eye out for migrating whales.

The relaxed town of Augusta provides plenty of scenic viewpoints, fishing spots and wildlife spotting opportunities. Jump in a kayak or stand up paddle board and paddle the waters of the Blackwood river looking out for birdlife.

Busselton to Perth

Starting your journey towards Perth, stop at Hamelin Bay for another taste of South West magic. The bay is famous for it’s calm, shallow waters where stingrays glide close to the shore. Continuing north, your next stop is Busselton where the iconic jetty is a must visit. Stretching nearly two kilometres, the jetty is the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere. You can enjoy the views with a relaxing walk or train ride to the end and take a tour of the underwater observatory. Stop for lunch and a local brew at Shelter Brewing Co, where you can look out at the foreshore.

From Busselton, it’s approximately two and a half hours back to the city. Stay a while and take your time before returning your vehicle to one of our convenient rental locations in Western Australia.

Choosing the right rental car

The Southwest is best explored with a car that balances comfort, space, and fuel efficiency.
