Europcar launches toll solution to improve travel on Australia’s roads

Europcar has unveiled a new tolling system to make it easier for drivers travelling on roads all across Australia.

Instead of having to arrange to pay for tolls, all tolls are now automated to take the hassle out of vehicle rental on Australian motorways.

Europcar's Managing Director (Australia and New Zealand), Mr Ron Santiago, said the

initiative is an example of the company's new tagline - Moving Your Way - which reflects the company's commitment to improving the customer experience.

"Our customers told us that having to arrange toll payments was confusing and time

consuming, which is why we implemented a new system to adapt to their needs," Mr

Santiago said.

"Our new tolling system is a flexible, low cost solution for rental car users to pay for their tolls, making it more efficient to use Australia's roads, country wide," Mr Santiago said.

Under Tolling Group, Roads and Maritime Services (RMS), all Europcar vehicles will be

registered on RMS' e-toll system and all renters will agree to the RMS Customer Agreement at the time of rental.

Details will be detected when they drive through any electronic toll collection point in

Australia. These tolls will be charged back to them by the same payment collection method they have chosen to pay for their rental.

Mr Santiago said the tolling solution is one of many ways that Europcar is demonstrating

their commitment to improving the customer experience by listening to what customers want and responding to their needs.

"Across the industry, customers are concerned about charges for things like damage, fuel,tolls and fines and complex transactions for what they perceive should be a simple transaction," Mr Santiago said.

"We are the market leader in Europe and we want to mirror that success in Australia and

New Zealand, which is why we're introducing a suite of initiatives in direct response to our customers' feedback.

"We want to be the best car rental company with respect to customer experience, quality of service, value for money and product. In short, we want people to trust us - and recommend us."
