Europcar slam dunks a sponsorship deal with the Melbourne Tigers

Europcar is getting behind the National Basketball League's (NBL) Melbourne Tigers, entering a sponsorship deal for the 2012/13 season.
The season kicks off on Sunday 7 October 2012, when the Melbourne Tigers come head-tohead against the Adelaide 36ers in Adelaide.
Europcar Sales and Marketing Director, Mike Warmington, said that Europcar is committed to supporting Australia's thriving sporting industry and the Melbourne Tigers sponsorship was the perfect opportunity to support the NBL and basketball in Australia.
"Here at Europcar, we take our sponsorships seriously, carefully choosing each club and association we partner with.
"As fans of the Melbourne Tigers and the NBL, we couldn't be more excited to be affiliated with the club," Mr Warmington said.
Europcar currently sponsor the Carlton Football Club, the Perth Glory A-League Club and have a strong association in the sport of cycling, both domestically and globally, including the sponsorship of ‘Team Europcar' participating at international events such as the Tour de France.
"Australians love their sport - whether they're playing or watching, it's a part of our national identity and an aspect of the Australian culture that Europcar loves to support.
"As part of the sponsorship, Europcar will provide the Melbourne Tigers with vehicles to travel to each away game throughout the season," Mr Warmington said.
The Melbourne Tigers entered a team into the NBL in 1984 and have won the National Title in 1993, 1997, 2007 and 2008.
For the first time in Australian history, the iiNet NBL championship will be televised live and across multiple digital platforms due to a recently signed broadcast deal between Basketball Australia and Perform Media.
The agreement will complement the existing arrangement with Network Ten, which will show one game live nationally every Sunday afternoon on TEN, and one game per round at the regular time slot of 9.30 pm on the Network Ten's Channel One.
