Rent a car in Brisbane with Europcar

As the bustling capital city of Queensland, Brisbane is a multicultural, exciting and vibrant part of the world just waiting to be explored. If you want to experience this picturesque hub at your own time and pace, why not enjoy car hire Brisbane with Europcar?

We’ve two stations across the city. Europcar Brisbane City Sofitel is located at the central Sofitel Brisbane along Turbot Street, just a stone’s throw from Central Station and therefore a top choice for anyone travelling by train. Our Europcar Brisbane Airport desks can also be found inside the Domestic Terminal at Qantas and Virgin Arrivals, opposite the luggage carousel. Brisbane Airport is located just over 10 miles (17 kilometres) from the city centre.

Discover Brisbane by car

With a reliable, modern car rental from Europcar, you can experience the very best of Brisbane in style. There’s something for everyone, with water-based activities being a big pull for locals and tourists alike. While many people choose to cruise along the Brisbane River which flows calmly through the city, others take the hour-long drive north to snorkel off the coast of Moreton Bay.

Those in search of sun, sea and sand can then continue north from the Moreton Bay Region to Queensland’s wonderfully enchanting Sunshine Coast which is reachable in just under an hour via the M1. The sparkling clear waters and white sands of Kings Beach in Caloundra are idea for families. And, if you fancy trying your hand at surfing, the best places for beginners in this region include Dicky Beach, Little Cove, Mooloolaba Beach and Noosa Main Beach.

Can’t see yourself getting up on a surfboard any time soon? Then worry not. There’s plenty of other attractions to enjoy throughout Queensland including the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Australia Zoo. If you’re up for some adrenalin-fuelled fun, then head to Dreamworld – the biggest theme park in the Gold Coast, or Movie World – Australia’s only movie-related theme park.

Being a tourist can be exhausting. So, if you fancy taking some time out from the hustle and bustle, don’t miss the South Bank’s 42-acres of parklands. Grab a bite to eat, sip coffee or enjoy a spot of people watching at one of the bars and cafes. Or, take a short drive north-west to Samford Conservation Park where you can pull your hiking boots on and explore by foot.

A Europcar vehicle rental is all about giving you freedom and flexibility. Did you know that the southern-most end of the Great Barrier Reef is only about a four-hour drive away and ideal if you’re in the mood for an extensive road trip? Or, how about exploring Queensland’s cities such as Fortitude Valley, Cannon Hill and Brendale – all reachable within an hour by car?

Driving in Brisbane

When in Australia, always drive on the left-hand side of the road and overtake on the right. This is important to remember if you’re from a country where the reverse applies. Note than the speed limit in most built-up areas of Queensland is 50km/h. Most highways have a speed limit of 110km/h.

While Brisbane itself can get pretty busy, those looking to fast-track their journey can take one of the many toll roads, tunnels or bridges. Key routes throughout the city include The Gateway Motorway (toll road), The Logan Motorway, Clem Jones (tunnel), Go Between Bridge, Legacy Way and Airport Link M7.

With regards to parking, on-street spaces are limited, but you’ll find plenty of private car parks dotted throughout the city. Be sure to check all signage to avoid fees.

We are proud to be European leaders in car rental. To find out more about the Europcar car hire experience, be sure to visit our car rental page!
